Benjamin Franklin
Ben Franklin was a very influential person in politics for the American people. Ben
Franklin was also a very talented person. He worked at his own printing press he was the one
that learned how electricity worked and what it was.
In his career as the printing business he worked almost as a slave to his brother and
during the time he worked there, he gained valuable learning experiences which he would use
to make his own profitable printing press up and down the coast. But before that happened, his
brother (of which ben did not have a good relationship with) wouldn’t let Ben add anything to
the paper. So Ben would send letters to the printing press as “silence Dogood”. And once his
brother found out that it was Ben that was sending the letters he was very angry and Benjamin
decided that it was time to start his life on his own.
He made his way down to Philadelphia and found a job in another printing press and
proved to be very knowledgeable and was given the chance to start up his own business. Ben
worked non-stop trying to make his company top notch. Eventually Ben was given the honor to
preform government jobs.
Ben franklin made a group called “Junto” which was for civic improvement. Some of the
first things that they did were, to add a public library the Post office and make the streets nice.
And he made the first hospital. Also he founded the first fire department.
Ben was known as an inventor and created many things that we still have today. He
invented ”Bi-Focals” because he got tired of switching between his reading glasses and his
other ones. He also created the stove to make the houses get more to the house. And my
favorite thing that he made was the “Glass” Harmonica. It was made from many crystal classes
and bowls. You would wet your fingers and apply them to the spinning crystal. He got this idea
from rubbing the edges of crystal glasses.
Near the end of his fortuitous life, he was known as a statesman, inventor, printer and
diplomat. He was a true American hero. He was known globally but still people don’t know of
his greatness. If it wasn’t for Benjamin we would not be where we are today.
