Internet providers are trying to use their power and money to control what their users can look at and do on the internet. In addition, some providers are attempting to sell “loading power?” to various companies in order to make their websites load faster than others.
If you use the internet on your phone or ipod, you are not accessing the internet directly. Before the internet gets to you, it has to go through the company that gives you your service. Kricket, AT&T, and Verizon are some common examples. This allows these companies to block certain things on the internet, like music and video files, before it gets to your phone.

In order for you to use the internet on a computer, you have to pay a service provider. Service providers are companies like Time Warner, Comcast, and AOL, and they send the internet to you through various wires that hook up to your computer. Before the internet gets to your house, it must pass through the provider. Currently, some service providers have been talking about filtering the content that their subscribers have access to. Certain types of files will not be able to be downloaded, and certain websites will could become blocked, much like in the case of AT&T and their 3G network.

#2. Small internet businesses who cannot pay for a boost will have their bandwidth decreased, and could potentially lose customers. This would also stunt the growth of these businesses, just as they are starting to bloom into a major part of our economy.
#3. You, personally, may not be able to see and do what you want on the internet. Whether that means downloading music or video, playing games, or even looking at a news website, the pages, information, or files may be blocked, making it impossible for you to get to them.
