This document provides a lesson plan for teaching students about fables. The lesson asks students to work in pairs to research fables, choose one, and retell it to the class using a self-selected format. This will allow students to learn about fables and their morals while practicing recounting stories and explaining central messages.
1. Fable Fun
• Learning Outcome: TLW understand the meaning of a fable and be able to retell a fable explaining the moral
and how they learned the moral through the fable.
• Common Core Standard/GLE: RL.3.2: Recount stories, including fables, folktales, and myths from diverse
cultures; determine the central message, lesson, or moral and explain how it is conveyed through key details in
the text.
• Description of Lesson: The students will learn about fables and the morals the fables contain while working in
pairs to create the method they choose to relate their fable.
