  • 2. The 5 Steps to Social Media Compliance
  • 3. Know the social media regulations in your industry#1 There are many new regulations and guidelines governing the use of social media in the enterprise, and they are constantly evolving. Keep apprised of the regulations that impact your organization so you can effectively design and enforce policy.
  • 4. Monitor your social media accounts#2 To effectively comply with social regulatory guidelines and manage potential liability, track both what you’re saying about your brand as well as what others are saying about you. Using a publishing platform with compliance features is a good place to start, but make sure that your publishing app can’t be bypassed and that you monitor bidirectional communications.
  • 5. #3 Create acceptable content use policies Foster a safe and socially responsible community by defining what kind of conduct you will and will not allow using a set of Acceptable Content Use Policies (ACUP) for your social accounts. Your ACUP will provide public clarification as well as internal guidance for social compliance.
  • 6. #4 Apply content controls to your social media accounts Maximize the effectiveness of your policy with content controls. Automate content moderation to increase efficiency, alleviate strain on human resources, and standardize the application of compliance policy across your social media accounts.
  • 7. Intelligently archive social communications#5 Many regulations require that you archive communications for compliance. The most effective and efficient method is to automatically pre-classify content before archiving, so archived data is easily searchable and the inefficiencies and high costs of archiving are reduced.
