(Believers / Church) </li></ul><ul><li>2. Ex 25: 9 TABERNACLE / DWELLING PLACE </li></ul><ul><li>His desire to dwell among men. (Jn 1:14 / Rev 21:3) </li></ul><ul><li>3. Ex 27: 21 TABERNACLE OF THE CONGREGATION </li></ul><ul><li>The coming together. The one congregation that God came to dwell among. </li></ul><ul><li>(1 Cor 12:13. One Body) </li></ul><ul><li>4. Shekinah Glory: The dwelling or presence of Yahweh <ul><li>Exd 40:33- 35 </li></ul><ul><li>And he erected the court around the tabernacle and the altar, and set </li></ul><ul><li>up the screen of the gate of the court. So Moses finished the work. </li></ul><ul><li>Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord </li></ul><ul><li>filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter the tent of </li></ul><ul><li>meeting because the cloud settled ( shakan: or the shekinah as in </li></ul><ul><li>shekinah glory ) on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. </li></ul><ul><li>The Hebrew word Sh'cheenah , or as we usually refer to it &quot; shekinah ,&quot; </li></ul><ul><li>comes from a verb meaning to settle, inhabit or dwell. Its frequent use </li></ul><ul><li>in the Old Testament scriptures literally means the &quot;dwelling&quot; or </li></ul><ul><li>&quot;presence&quot; of Yahweh with his people. </li></ul>
  6. 7. Tabernacle vs. Temple of God: The difference <ul><li>PAST </li></ul><ul><li>Tabernacle: Temporary Place. Ex 25:15 </li></ul><ul><li>The staves shall be in the rings of the ark: they shall not be taken from it. </li></ul><ul><li>Temple: Permanent Place. 1Ki 8:8  </li></ul><ul><li>And they drew out the staves , that the ends of the staves were seen out in the holy [place] </li></ul><ul><li>before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there they are unto this day. </li></ul><ul><li>Though provided as a permanent place it was only a pattern that pointed to the Future. </li></ul><ul><li>PRESENT </li></ul><ul><li>Temple: Church (Local / Corporate) 1Cr 3:16   </li></ul><ul><li>Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? </li></ul><ul><li>Temple: Christian (Individual) 1Cr 6:19   </li></ul><ul><li>What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you </li></ul><ul><li>FUTURE </li></ul><ul><li>Rev 21:3 </li></ul><ul><li>And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, &quot;Behold, the dwelling place of God ( skēnē: </li></ul><ul><li>rendered eternal dwelling place ) is with man.
