  • We close with a discussion of the constants that have guided the Internet2 community all along. We might want to add something that touches on Doug’s theme of values guiding the way we deliver value. Challenges to the values for each of these bullet points: Higher Education Leadership: Commitment to core Internet values: short-term solutions to problems may undermine end-to-end transparency, etc. Focus on Advanced Networking Capabilities: mention fiber initiative, end-to-end architecture Accomplishing together the things we can’t do alone: talk about the economic realities, but also the idea that we’re leveraging our joint resources: as NPPAC said recently, this isn’t the time to retrench, but need to take advantage of new opportunities Need to tie into the program, and lead into Peter Freeman introduction—talk about historic partnership with NSF, and look forward to cyberinfrastructure

Industry Strategy Council Role <ul><li>Founding resolution: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>The Industry Strategy Council (ISC) shall advise the Trustees on matters related to strategic issues concerning advanced networking and applications development from the industry perspective and to help focus the technology transfer aspects of the Internet2 initiatives. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Unless otherwise directed, the ISC will meet twice a year. The Chair of ISC and the President/CEO of Internet2 will jointly develop the agenda for each meeting. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Following each meeting, the ISC will forward to the Board a written report summarizing issues considered, conclusions reached and any recommendations the ISC may have for initiation or revision of Internet2 programs, priorities and policies relating to the subject area of ISC. </li></ul></ul>
