Complex academic article annotated by teacher: students then each choose another reading and annotate in similar way, following specific instructions.
Each student’s screen production ‘pitch’ uploaded for all students to comment on; final assessed pitch has to include views on the comments and changes
Images uploaded in visual communications unit: students have to provide commentary on communicative features

The ability to review with annotations ‘intext’ which mobilise the presence of original and the comment is essential to collaborative knowledge work and even to individual thinking; reviewbasics does this well
In-built controls and options about what to signify visually with review comments guides users in the process of reviewing: colours, icons, linking of comments to text all make it easier for individuals to communicate in common terms with each other
Push communication – sending emails out to reviewers – is likely to produce a response more effectively than invitations to a website; tracking and management of reviewers (including ‘resend’ options) makes the system usable on an ongoing basis.
