  • 2. 5 Common Tech Tips That Are Really Wake-up Calls
  • 3. #1: KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE Before you develop your online marketing campaign, be sure your audience and your goal are top of mind. • Do you even remember what your programmatic / communications goals are? • How will you get in touch with this tremendous online audience that’s out there waiting for you?
  • 4. #2: FOCUS ON ENGAGEMENT Don’t just track likes and friends; focus on engagement to make sure you are on the right track. • One person’s engagement is another person’s inaction. • Retweeting your funny tweet is great engagement – but did the tweeter go or get anyone else to go to your website?
  • 5. #3: HIRE “DIGITAL PEOPLE” Recruit someone other than an intern to handle your online brand. • No one owns the Internet. • Don’t let tech experience overshadow content expertise.
  • 6. #4: TELL YOUR STORY Use storytelling to show your personality and highlight your brand online. • Do you have a story? • Do you have the correct technology to share it?
  • 7. #5: SIGN UP FOR HOOTSUITE A social management platform will coordinate all your online activity. • Do you have the budget for someone to manage the management? • Do you know what you are measuring?
