  • 1.  The current system of education in Spain LOE (Ley Orgánica de Educación). It is compulsory and free from 6 to 16 years. Supported by the Government in each Region.
  • 2.  Below Higher Education, consisting of 4 levels:  Pre-School Educación Infantil- 3 to 6 years of age. Not compulsory  Primary School Educación Primaria- 6 to 12 years of age.  Compulsory Secondary Education Educación Secundaria Obligatoria- 12 to 16 years of age.  Post - Compulsory Schooling Bachillerato 16 to 1 years of age.
  • 3.  Higher Education:  At University:  Bachelor’s Degree Diplomatura  Master’s Degree Licenciatura  College Degree Grado Universitario  Vocational Training:  Middle Grade Training Cycles Ciclos Formativos de Grado Medio.  Superior level Training Cycles Ciclos Formativos de Grado Superior
  • 4.  We can divide schools into 3 categories:  State schools Colegios públicos  Privately run schools funded by the State Colegios concertados  Purely Private Schools Colegios privados
