    1. ‘My lesson wasn’t that bad.’ Y10 Media Studies Term 2: The Chiller...
    2. The Tasks • Choose a topic of research which you will enjoy! • Construct a 2-3 minutes made for the internet horror film or thriller aimed at a teenage audience. • Construct the front page, back page and at least 4 pages of a thriller/horror inspired graphic novel aimed at teenagers.
    3. 1st task • Using www.sismedia.wetpaint.com research your chosen topic, so that you have an informed sense of what you are trying to achieve. • Analyse existing texts. We will help you in class as we will be analysing at least one example from each of the three tasks together. • Decide who you want to work with for this task. I would suggest that you change groups from the i-pod advertisement.
    4. 2nd Task: Pre- Production • Brainstorm your ideas together and then construct either mock-ups for your Graphic Novel or a storyboard for your film. • When your teacher has seen these and is happy with your plans, you can then begin the production process.Your deadline for planning the project is the end of CNY.
    5. 3rd Task: Production • After CNY and using the feedback gained from your teacher you will now begin the process of making your production. The final deadline for this assignment is the end of March giving you 7 weeks (14 hours of class time) of production time to complete the task. Friday the 13th March 3pm is the deadline for the production and Friday the 20th of March for the evaluation.
    6. AO’s • AO3:Your finished product must be technically competent with excellent editing skills.You must show your understanding of the codes and conventions of your chosen genre and be ‘creative, interesting and stimulating’ to a teenage audience. (25 marks) • AO4:Your evaluation should be well written and structured. Possible areas of revision (improvement) will have been indicated and narrative, representation etc considered as part of your analysis. (400-600 words- 750 word tolerance)
