  3. 3. The IB Diploma consists of: <ul><li>6 subjects - one from each group, and </li></ul><ul><li>A compulsory core consisting of: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>CAS </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Extended Essay, and </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>TOK </li></ul></ul>
  4. 4. You need TOK in order to complete your IB Diploma!

TOK consists of: <ul><li>4 Ways of Knowing - Language, Sensory perception, Emotion and Reason </li></ul><ul><li>6 Areas of </li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge </li></ul><ul><li>The Arts, Natural </li></ul><ul><li>Sciences, Human </li></ul><ul><li>Sciences, History, </li></ul><ul><li>Mathematics and Ethics. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Assessment will consist of: <ul><li>1 group oral presentation in Nov-Dec of Yr 13 (30%) - internal assessment </li></ul><ul><li>1 essay chosen from a set of IB topics, completed as homework and handed in in January of Yr 13 (70%) - external assessment . </li></ul>
  7. 7. For TOK classes you will need: <ul><li>Your TOK journal, </li></ul><ul><li>Your student reference (van de Lagemaat) </li></ul><ul><li>Your set of additional readings </li></ul><ul><li>An open mind! </li></ul>
