Climate Change Global Warming
What is global warming?Global warming refers to the rising averagetemperature of Earth’s atmosphere and oceansand it’s projected continuation.
Global Warming Facts.-- average temperatures have climbed 1.4degrees Fahrenheit around the world since1880.-- the rate of warming is increasing.-- the arctic is feeling the effects the most.-- Arctic ice is rapidly disappearing.-- Glaciers and mountain snows are rapidlymelting.
Are humans causing it?--Humans have caused all or most of thecurrent planetary warming. Humanscaused global warming is often calledanthropogenic climate change.--Humans are pouring carbon dioxide intothe atmosphere much faster than plantsand oceans can absorb it.
What’s going to happen?-- global warming could lead to large-scale food andwater shortages and have catastrophic effects onwildlife.-- sea level could rise between 7 and 23 inches bycentury’s end.-- glaciers around the world could melt, causing sealevels to rise while creating water shortages.-- more than a million species face extinction fromdisappearing habitat, changing ecosystems andacidifying oceans.
