Neev Hybris Center of Excellence - Hybris for Phonegap • Hybris platform exposes the capabilities of data access to authenticated client apps through RESTful services. • To build a client app, a developer needs to understand the signatures of each of these service calls. • Hybris provides these wrappers in the form of Android SDK and iOS SDK but not for hybrid frameworks like Phonegap. • PhoneGap, an Open Source framework, provides advantages like low development time, cross platform nature of app development and lesser effort required for maintenance. With Phonegap and availability of frameworks like Steroids or Ionic, we are able to deliver native looking apps at a fraction of the time it takes to build native apps. • We built a pure Javascript solution which can be used by a framework like Phonegap and also by pure Javascript clients (including NodeJS). • With the adoption of this approach, it is far more easier to improvise on its capabilities whenever new features are required.

  • 23. Vehicle History Reporting Service of a US-based Global Company • Neev developed Vehicle History Reporting service that is used in aiding used car shopping. It is an online store that provides vehicle history reports detailing specific used vehicles’ history. • We helpedmigrate this portal to Hybris platform, revamped the design and also added feature enhancements. • Using Hybris’s inbuilt functionality, we redesigned the entire portal. • The reports package is being handled through the subscription module in Hyrbis. • This module helps the admin track and record all user activity. It enables the users to view their information like purchase history, expiry date for the subscription, etc. through a customer dashboard. The portal also sends an automatic email alert to the user when the subscription is about to end prompting them to subscribe again. This is achieved through email triggers. • The portal also sends automatic email alerts to technical staff and admin alerting them of technical issues and sending logs of user activity. • The portal allows users to register and create their profiles. • We implemented payment gateway integration with Paypal and CyberSource. The choice of a payment gateway enables users without Paypal accounts to make payments. • We also implemented a feature that allows users to get a discount upon entering a coupon code. • SOAP services used for implementation. Hybris integrated with external servers through web services to fetch information. • Thirty-party end-user analytics implemented - Google Analytics, Web trends and Optimost.   • 30. • Neev helped Provogue setup and launch it’s first eCommerce store. • Neev designed and developed Provogue’s online store on Magento Community Edition Ver 1.7. Magento Enterprise Edition and Magento Community Edition were evaluated to assess the best fit. • Neev also created a Payment Gateway for the store using Citrus.   • 34. - one of America's 100 Best Golf Shops • Neev optimized the performance of a golf apparel and accessory website improving page load speeds and cutting hardware costs for the client. • With expertise in performance optimization techniques, Neev was able to accomplish this task successfully keeping the website up and running all the while. • GPP approached Neev with a Magento website that was extremely slow with page loads taking nearly 5 seconds, despite a higher server configuration. • Neev had to optimize the site performance and improve the page load time to 3.5 seconds. • A unique feature was the use of Varnish cache and Redis session techniques to improve site performance. Magento Turpentine extension was used to implement Varnish. • Some other techniques/activities include CDN implementation for JS, CSS and images, Optimizing server configurations, MySQL tuning and use of Magento compiler. • Neev also moved the store to a smaller hardware configuration which resulted in a huge reduction in monthly costs. In a matter of 2 weeks, Neev not only beat the page load time of 3.5 seconds but also cut down recurring costs by using a smaller hardware configuration.

It caters to women across the globe who are busy and are constantly on-the-go. • Neev helped mode-B enhance the performance of the store, revamp their UI with a refreshing new theme and modify content for their online store. We also made the site responsive. • We used Magento Enterprise edition 1.13 and PHP framework. HTML, CSS, Jquery and MySQL were also used. • We used MySQL Query optimization and Varnish caching to enhance the performance. • Nexess Content Delivery Network was used to synchronously load images from Rackspace CloudFiles. Product images were automatically synced with Rackspace Cloud. • Page load times were reduced from 5.5 seconds to 2 seconds. • Argento, a responsive Magento theme was integrated to revamp the User Interface. • We faced challenges installing Varnish directly on the live site. • To make shopping an easier experience, a size guide was built which translated the European size standard to the US size standard and vice versa.

SMS gateway integration done for COD order fulfilment process. • The store automatically identifies a shipping carrier based on the location of the person and COD module. • Custom themes and payment gateway plug-ins were integrated into the store. • The key challenges were performance enhancement and implementation of customized auto-order lifecycle process. • The unique features of this store are the gift finder (helps search gifts based on occasions, recipient, age group and price) end-to-end customized auto-order process, enabling generation of large number of invoices and shipments with a single click and customized gift-wrapping options. • Over 6000 visitors visit the online store every month. On an average, visitors visit over 7 pages on every visit. • Neev revamped a slow, underperforming eCommerce site facing severe outages and security risks. This impacted traffic to the site and also the volume of sales of the client. • Shipping computations like estimated delivery date with FedEx API integration, implementation of promotions and use of promo code had to be incorporated. • Inbuilt design patterns that exist in .NET framework were utilized. User experience and usability were greatly improved. • Stored procedures were used to process the data in the backend and XML files were used for bulk data exporting. For effective exception handling, NHibernate was replaced with ADO.NET and LINQ in some key areas. • Challenges we overcame include Integration of FedEx API for computations and accurate estimation of shipping delivery dates.

World’s Largest Transactional Retail Network • The client is a leading wholesale online commerce platform for retailers and brands in the fashion and lifestyle industry launched by Global Apparel Network. • Neev helped the client by setting up a Extended Development Center (EDC) for: – Revamping their UI for customer facing portal – Development of an iPad app – Addition of new features for their web app – Development of a Visual Merchandising web application • The client has a web portal that lets the collection managers create fashion collections, sales personnel to sell customers and for customers to buy from the portal themselves. • The UI was customized for a range of operating systems like Windows, Mac among others and browsers like particular versions of Safari, Firefox, IE and Chrome. • We created an API that could be integrated with third-party applications. This enabled the collection managers to create a collection from within their own web apps and saved time.
  • 44. iPad App for eCommerce • Neev developed an iPad-based application for a client that connects the sales team of fashion and lifestyle businesses with retailers who make wholesale purchases. • The application acts as an on-the-go marketplace through which sales personnel can download and share collections, suggest orders and receive and submit orders even when offline. • Retailers can browse, edit and approve orders by simply signing on an iPad. • The application automatically downloads the collections whenever the device is online. The application could also work offline. • Neev used the iOS 6 SDK for developing the application. • The application was developed using SQL-Lite. We used Crashlytics for superior crash reporting and Flurry for onboard analytics. • FMDB was used for data storage. • We faced a conflict resolution challenge since the application works offline also and the changes in the server had to be communicated to the app when online.

A Leading India-based Online Bus Ticketing Company • The client is a leading bus ticketing portal in India . • The entire system is available as Webservices using which travel agents or individuals can use the same platform and book tickets on RedBus. • The inventory (bus tickets) comes offline for some and is real-time for some operators. • There was already web services in RedBus to be used by partners developed using .Net. • We have exposed the entire system as a Webservices using Xfire and Java and refactored the entire application and added the enhancements. • Redoing from .NET where the code was not well documented was a key challenge.
