Collection Development Budget <ul><li>Made up of member libraries’ annual participation fees. </li></ul><ul><li>Collection development budget for 2011-2012 = $84,265.80. </li></ul><ul><li>Currently, budget is evenly split between eBooks and audiobooks. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Average cost: audiobook ($50) / eBook ($13) </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Further breakdown: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Adult Fiction (current, popular, bestsellers) – 65% </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Adult Non-Fiction (current, popular bestsellers) – 20% </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Juvenile / Young Adult – 15% </li></ul></ul>

Circulation Policies <ul><li>Circulation period: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Audiobooks: 7 or 14 days (no early return) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>eBooks: 7, 14 , or 21 days (can be returned early) </li></ul></ul><ul><li># of titles that can be checked out at one time: 4 </li></ul><ul><li># of titles a patron can have on hold at one time: 3 </li></ul><ul><li># of days patron has to “pick up” a hold: 3 </li></ul><ul><li># of titles patron can have in “My Cart” at one time: 5 </li></ul><ul><li># of minutes a title will stay in “My Cart”: 30 </li></ul>
  5. 5. Hold Ratios & Additional Copies <ul><li>Our target hold ratio = 6 (group’s goal is to have one copy of a title for every 6 holds) </li></ul><ul><li>What is a hold ratio? The number of holds on a title divided by the number of copies owned. Examples: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Explosive Eighteen (audio) – 29 holds / 5 copies = hold ratio of 5.8 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Eclipse (eBook) – 6 holds / 1 copy = hold ratio of 6 </li></ul></ul>
