• From the start - 1993- our business has been focused innovation for both Digitization as well as content delivery. Range of Materials that we work with for projects sent to our facility in LA as well as conducted on site (most recently the Newberry Library, Lily Library – Indiana University, Ayn Rand Archive). Slide scanning Glass plate negatives Oversized formats Yearbooks Increase in Book capture which is less bitonal or scanned microfiche these days – we all want quality
• LUNA - Our new front-end – released in June 2008 Not just images on a page. But a solution for engaging users to discover, curate, share, collaborate.
• Describe the top 5 features
• v6.2.1 Sep ’09 & v6.2.2 Dec ‘09
• For user generated content that isn’t exposed to Flickr – not just images (PDF, PPT, OIV, FLV, MOV)
• Don’t forget PowerPoint – both from a Media Group and from a Presentation
• Try as we might, there are often just too many silos of information. While LUNA is search engine optimized (and facilitates discovery for Google and Bing) we also have the architecture to expose your LUNA collections to Institutional Discovery Tools such as Summon and Premis, as well as Soft Chalk). Our next release will include support for OAI-PMH in LUNA to make it even easier for institutions to participate – or contribute – to regional or local efforts as well as WorldCat.org
• We are also work with ExLibris’s Primo and towards discovery through SoftChalk
• We’re building a “dashboard” like concept and a complete overhaul of the editing tools. There’s no doubt cloud computing has many benefits, the biggest is saving you time and money. We’re updating the Insight components to create all web-based tools which will exist “in the clouds”. No more downloading, no more worrying about updating systems, we’ll take care of everything. Easier to distribute, faster, smarter, easier! We’re aslo working to publish non-Insight collections to LUNA (CONTENTdm, DSpace, Fedora…) so you can tear down the silos, and more easily deliver unified digital collections.
• Resources to make it simpler
