DTCC Curriculum at Stanton Campus <ul><li>Began a 60 hour Associate Degree Program in Emergency Management and Homeland Security at the Stanton Campus Fall 2008. </li></ul><ul><li>Implementation began after establishment and input of an advisory board consisting of Directors’ and CEOs’ of federal & state government, military, educational and private sector stakeholders of both emergency management and homeland security field and hiring interests. </li></ul>06/07/09

DTCC Curriculum <ul><li>FEMA produces an annual report and training for recommendations of Higher Education that DTCC uses as a suggested model to provide for the needs of the technology at the undergraduate community college level. </li></ul><ul><li>This mission depends upon satisfying a clear understanding and identification of local community resources, strategic, tactical, technological, and future educational requirements. </li></ul>06/07/09

DTCC Curriculum <ul><li>After an introductory course that includes an overview of homeland security and the role of emergency management the student completes closed book testing in ICS 100, 200,700, and 800 certifications and begin to develop action plans pertaining to scenarios' that challenge assessment, planning and mitigation. </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>The role of communications is discussed but no operational certifications are offered at this time </li></ul></ul></ul></ul>06/07/09
  5. 5. DTCC Curriculum - CERT <ul><li>The second CORE COURSE HDM 102 teaches: operational budgeting, grant writing, and community planning, development & implementation of CERT for schools, neighbors, and private business organizations. </li></ul>06/07/09

DTCC Curriculum – International Appeal <ul><li>DTCC is developing a role in Delaware’s State Partnership Program through the DEANG with Trinidad & Tobago. </li></ul><ul><li>This Higher Educational role has a dual prong and interests: </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>International Scholars Course in Criminal Justice </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Issues in Law Enforcement </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>CERT: Neighborhood and Family Emergency Management </li></ul></ul></ul></ul>06/07/09

DTCC Curriculum - Needs <ul><li>Understanding and being able to articulate a clear organizational design </li></ul><ul><li>Clarification of funding, marketing, recruitment and community oversight of CERT </li></ul><ul><li>Role and understanding of interagency agreements and cooperation between partners (MOUs) </li></ul><ul><li>Integration of CEU/Credits preferences for education, training and/or certification </li></ul>06/07/09
