Dusseldorf Second Stop For The Oag Cargo Roadshow Press Release Tuesday 12th June 2012
1. Dusseldorf: second stop for the OAG Cargo Roadshow
Tuesday 12th June 2012 – Press Release
On Wednesday, June 13th, OAG Cargo will be in Dusseldorf for the second stop of their
Global Roadshow Programme which began last month in Chicago.
Specialists in the supply of data and information products for the global aviation industry,
OAG Cargo are inviting local airline and forwarder staff to come along to one of two sessions
and learn more about a range of innovative solutions that can help them drive efficiency,
reduce costs and increase revenues.
Based on years of experience, the company has developed its services in response to the
fact that the daily exchange of operational and commercial information within local cargo
communities is often lacking in structure. Airlines and their sales agents can have difficulty
reaching all potential customers in their market, while freight forwarders can be overloaded
with information from different sources in different formats, delivered via different
channels.
The Roadshow is being co-hosted and jointly organised by DUS Cargo Logistics (www.dus-
cargo.com), responsible for handling an average of 275 tonnes of cargo freight per day at
Dusseldorf International Airport.
At a national level, Germany is equally well served by a wide choice of shipping and freight
companies which makes it an ideal market for the promotion of OAG Cargo’s services.
Gerton Hulsman, Managing Director DUS Cargo Logistics commented:
“We are looking to optimise our infrastructure as far as communications are concerned with
the airlines, forwarders, shippers, truckers and other handling companies and welcome the
OAG Cargo initiative of bringing these groups together.
Being at the centre of tremendous industrial activities, we see a glorious future for this
airport. DUS is no longer a point-to-point airport, offering more intercontinental
destinations. We’d like more forwarders to support DUS airport so that we can find a
mutual way to attract more airlines and destinations to fly to.
We can offer the market direct connections out of the production area, save trucking costs
and do something for the environment by reducing truck CO2 emissions.”

2. Designed to show how OAG Cargo’s products can streamline the airfreight management
process by enhancing communication between the parties and improving the flow of
information, the Roadshow sessions will be informal, informative and interactive and will be
of particular benefit to local export managers, country managers, station managers and
operational staff. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with their industry
peers and hear first-hand about issues affecting their market.
Our Roadshow approach enables us to converse with local markets to understand the
infrastructure and demonstrates our commitment to building value through strong local
communities.
Both the morning session (09:30 – 11:30) for airlines and GSAs, and the afternoon session
(13:00 – 15:00) for freight forwarders will be held at WÖLLHAF Konferenz- und
Bankettcenter, 40474 Düsseldorf and will be run by OAG Cargo’s Dirk de Rooij, Executive
Vice President Cargo, and Marion Robinson, Cargo Sales and Account Manager. Gerton
Hulsman, Managing Director of DUS Cargo will also be attending as will representatives from
Kales Airline Services, UTI and Schenker.
