The ribbon replaces the drop down menus from older versions. The only real menu left is the Office menu – the big button in 2007; File in 2010Ribbon is divided into tabs. These were the old drop down menus. Each tab gives access to a related set of commands.It’s all a matter of finding what you want on the ribbonCan still right click to get Let’s look at the ribbon in a little more detail.

CONCEPT You use FOIL to multiply the terms inside the parenthesis in a specific order: first, outside, inside, last. Heres how to solve (4x + 6)(x + 2): First - multiply the first term in each set of parenthesis: 4x * x = 4x2 Outside - multiply the two terms on the outside: 4x * 2 = 8x Inside - multiply both of the inside terms: 6 * x = 6x Last - multiply the last term in each set of parenthesis: 6 * 2 = 12
