So, that it is dear friend. Just as in poker, there’s a game that will defeat ours ... To my knowledge there is no definitive recipe for preventing plagiarism, except expecting from others to be fair and decent, or to refuse be downloaded, but then why are we at SS, no? Hugs.

Good tip for the amateur for as you hinted, anybody with Photoshop skills can adjust otherwise. However if you want to give the pirate a hard time, jot down your name or logo on every slide. That way he has to download and adjust all slides. A tiring job for anyone.

To be complete, I will add that it is clear that pirates with Photoshop skills will be able to do some editing on our downloaded slides/images, certainly if the texts are on plain backgrounds.

The hope is that they will not have Photoshop, nor the skills or will not touch our images if it is too complicated; unlike native PowerPoint which is much easier to change. It’s an exercise in damage limitation and not full protection.

Anti-piracy: a little tip for PPT - Presentation Transcript

  1. HOW TO FIGHT PIRATES: A FEW SIMPLE TIPS Anti-piracy: a little tip for PPTs viewed on SShare (not download). Problem: Pirates download your presentation, and replace your text by their own. Make this as difficult as possible: 1) create your slides as usual; then copy the slide and paste it back : paste special - as a picture. 2)they cannot edit your text any more, but they can cover your original text with a filled shape + their own text; 3) so avoid placing your text on a plain white or black background; place it on a fussy background, a picture or across several objects: see below And add for your name on each slide too ( I forgot that...) the text is part of the picture and the whole picture can be stolen, but it will be difficult to replace the text by a different language 4) All of the above AND use Slidecast with your voice: it will be very difficult to steal that and change it.
  2. 5) convert your PPT to video and insert it back in a new PPT with just a few intro. slides. Or do as Patrick says: embed video or Flash in you PPTs - must be downloaded! Good luck to all of us. (traduction sur demande) ;-) NB
