  • Willingness to make decisions. It is often said thatmaking any decision is better than making nodecision. Even better than “any decision” is a gooddecision made quickly. Business decisions alwaysinvolve risk, at times a great deal of it. Smartentrepreneurs always balance the risk with facts,when they have them, rather than their gut. By usingthis manner,the manager also could improved thequality of school achivement.
  • Experience and knowledge in your business area.Effective leaders set a personal standard ofcompetence for every person and function in thestartup. It must be clear that you have theknowledge, insight, and skill to make your newcompany better than your very best competitor.
  • Commitment and conviction for the venture. Thiscommitment must be passionate enough to motivateand inspire people to do their best work, and puttheir heart into the effort. Behind the passion must bea business model that makes sense in today’s world,and a determination to keep going despite setbacks.
  • Open to new ideas and creativity. In business, thismeans spending time and resources on new ideas, aswell as encouraging people to find faster, better,cheaper, and easier ways to produce results, beatcompetition, and improve customer service. Be a rolemodel and guide others to excel.
  • Courage to acknowledge and attack constraints. Aneffective leader is willing and able to allocateresources to remove obstacles to the success of thestartup, as well as removing constraints on individualson the team. It is believing that where there is thewill, there will be a way.
  • Reward continuous learning. You have to encourageeveryone to learn and grow as a normal and naturalpart of business. That means no punishment forfailures, and positive opportunities for training andadvancement. Personally, it means upgrading yourown skills, listening, and reading about newdevelopments and approaches.
  • Self-discipline for consistency and reliability. Aneffective leader is totally predictable, calm, positive,and confident, even under pressure. People like tofollow someone when they don’t have to “walk oneggshells” to avoid angry outbursts, or assume dailychanges in direction.
  • Accept responsibility for all actions. Everyone andevery company makes mistakes. Good entrepreneursdon’t want to be seen as perfect, and they have to beseen as willing to accept the fact that “the buck stopshere.” No excuses, or putting the blame on theeconomy, competitors, or team members.
