    • 8 STRUCTURE OF THE GUIDANCE DEPARTMENT Traditional Guidance Department • Six counselors each with a caseload of students in grades 9- 12, divided alphabetically CORE Team Model developed in 2009 • Introduction of a seventh counselor (C.O.R. Counselor) • In 2012, the department was reduced 6.5 counselors THE NEED Increased student and parent awareness Increased student and parent involvement Relevant and up-to-date information/resources Community connections Decrease redundancy of questions/office visits
    • 9 MY ROLE … College.Occupation.Resource. Counselor A unique position created with specific roles and responsibilities tied to Career & College Readiness. With only a small caseload, the C.O.R. Counselor is able to focus on creating department, student and parent offerings and programming.

    • 16 NATIONAL vs. HHHS Nationally, 59.1% of high school students enroll in college during the Fall immediately after graduation

    • 18 NATIONAL vs. HHHS Nationally, 60% of high school students enroll in college in the first two years after graduation
