  4. 4. Questions to Consider… Is the content engaging? Does it provide useful and appropriate information for each grade level? How will I ensure that students and parents log into Family Connection regularly?
  5. 5. Welcome Messages
  6. 6. What is a Welcome Message? The first information a student or parent sees each time they log into Family Connection Only one welcome message per grade- level Links and images can be inserted directly into the message
  7. 7. Links Links in the welcome message can be to external websites or another portion of the student’s Family Connection account
  8. 8. Images and Videos Images can be added from a web-based photo sharing site like Picasa or Snapfish and videos from any video sharing website such as YouTube or Vimeo
  9. 9. Custom HTML Pages
  10. 10. What is a Custom HTML Page? A way for schools to build content directly into their Family Connection page No limit on the number of custom pages per grade-level
  11. 11. Custom HTML Pages vs. Documents Custom pages allow students and parents to access information within Family Connection without having to open or save a document Pages can be ordered
  12. 12. Custom Links
  13. 13. What is a Custom Link? A link to a URL that opens in a new window for students when accessed via Family Connection No limit on the number of custom links per grade-level Links can be ordered

  15. 15. What is a News Bulletin? A reminder for students and parents that can be posted in Family Connection No limit on number of news bulletins per grade-level
  16. 16. Headline and Start/End Dates Headline should grab the student’s attention Start and end dates can be used to ensure news bulletins are only displaying current information
