  4. 4. Community Summer Activities Summer Sporting Events Community/Church/School Fairs Local Parks  Skate Parks, Water Parks, Beaches, etc. Summer Theater in the Park Fireworks – 4th of July Celebrations

Summer Youth Programs Which means youth are active in a wide range of activities! YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, Libraries  Research other youth centers in your local community Parks & Recreation Programs School Summer Programs The Housing Authority  Research their events and participate at one

Utilize Safe Place Sites Leverage your Safe Place Sites  Can they help with promotion?  Can they sponsor an event?  How can you partner together? Look at Community Partners  Can you work together on a community event?  Participate in local school orientations  Utilize Fire and Police Department contacts
  7. 7. Summer Outreach Events Organize summer concert with local youth bands and artists Summer Fashion Show with Youth Focused Retailers Have informational Booth at County Fair or Summer Sporting Event Get involved at Youth Group Events or School Summer Programs

Safety Night Make it interactive! Provide outreach items, show map of local safe place sites, interact with the community NSP has created a manual for coordinators on how to set up event
