  • 1. Magazine Analysis
    Natasha Marlow
  • 2. The Fly
The fly is a free monthly music magazine. It is published in small format of A5. It’s quite minimal on the cover, only featuring one main image and one main title. Most issues also feature a skyline telling us some of the other bands featured in the magazine. The contents page, like the front cover is also quite simple, splitting the page in half for image and content.
It has new music reviews, gig reviews and a what’s on guide as well as some smaller articles on other bands.
  • 3. Loud and Quiet
This is loud and Quiet, a free music newspaper. It is a very simple newspaper containing interviews, new music reviews and live reviews as well as including person opinion stories. I like it because of al the negative space used as I feel it makes it a lot more easy to read and so more people will want to read it.

  • 5. Electronic Beats
  • 6. Vice
Vice is a free lifestyle magazine. Every so often they release a few free copies that are sent to selected shops. The front cover is very plain featuring only a main image and the mast head. This very simple design gives you an indication of how the magazine will look inside. The contents page is also very simple with only one image and half a page of text.
  • 7. Nylon
Nylon is a lifestyle magazine. The front cover is quite plain, using 4 colours that all contrast each other. Even though there is quite a lot of information on the front cover it still looks very minimal because of the font used. The contents page is also quite plain and is laid out so that it is very easy to understand and to find what your looking for.
