    •          2943 Bloor Street West, Etobicoke  May 18th, 2012To my colleagues in District 10 : As you may know, the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) ishaving an upcoming by-election in District 10 and I have decided to put forward my name torun as the replacement councilor. I offer my past experience and knowledge as a member inWest Toronto to understand and comment effectively on any issues that may come forwardat the RCDSO. My dental training was completed at the University of Toronto graduating in 1982. Ipractice in the Bloor and Royal York area having a solo general practice. I have been anactive member of the West Toronto Dental Society (WTDS) for over 25 years and served onmany different committees and capacities on the executive. Organizing scientific meetings, serving on governance and newsletter committees and serving as president of the WTDS hasallowed me to learn and work effectively with others to make our profession better from botha dentist and patient perspective. Serving as an Ontario Dental Association councilor for sixyears and most recently as a representative to the Toronto Academy of Dentistry has alsogiven me a solid and knowledgeable understanding of the workings of these organizations, again making our profession better for all of us. We have been very fortunate over many years to have had in West Toronto verycapable and committed representatives to the RCDSO and my goal would be to continue thatcommitment. I would seek ongoing input from you, the members, and in return I wouldendeavor to keep you informed about what goes on at the RCDSO council, if elected as yourRCDSO councilor. The remainder of this term will be for six months but it is important for you, themembers of District 10, to have proper representation at all times. I ask that you please consider me for this position and cast your vote by June 12.Sincerely,Dr. Janice Mummery, DDS
