  • 10. Case Study 5 5 Developed in India for other developing nations BACKGROUND : L&T’s Integrated Engineering Services (IES) interested in collaborating nonprofit mission of CTI. From many active programs designing and delivering practical (engineering) solutions to improve food and water for the poorest of the poor, one of the program is remote area farm processing facility which is mobile. Taking idea from remote clinic in 20’ container, same concept extended to this product called Factory in a box( FIAB) in 20’ container, with following features FIAB: This is remote areas farm produce processing of products like millet, groundnut etc., for preparing food for severely acute malnutrition children etc., The unit contains different types of milling, grinding equipment, with power generated from solar cell, and UPS system. SCOPE : The concept requirement was given by CTI team and L&T did the complete detailed design and concept layout for the equipment, selection and sizing of equipment and the electrical system.
