  • Stitches: A Memoir by David Small ADULTDavid Small's story of his life growing up is at once poignant and horrifying. It's one of the best graphic novels of the year because all of us can see a little bit of ourselves in David's portrayal of himself. This book is on many best book lists for 2009.
  • The Sword Vol. 3: Earth by Joshua Luna, Jonathan Luna ADULTThe saga of Dara Brighton and The Sword continues. Dara has defeated two of the three remaining god-siblings that murdered her family. Can she defeat the last one or will she meet the same fate as her parents and sister? The Luna Brothers tell a gripping story that you won't soon forget. Volume 4 soon will complete the story. The final issue of the series, #24, is about to be published. The Luna Brothers are also the authors of the graphic novels Ultra and Girls.
  • All-Star Superman Vol. 2 by Grant Morrison, Frank Quitely YA/ADULTGrant Morrison and Frank Quitely join forces to produce some of the best Superman stories in the history of the character. Morrison's puts a different spin on the character and Quitely's art is exquisite. Morrison and Quitely are also the authors of the graphic novel We3.
  • The Rocketeer - The Complete Adventures by Dave Stevens YA/ADULTDave Stevens creation The Rocketeer originally appeared in the 1980's and was the source material for a major motion picture.  This hardcover collects all the Rocketeer stories and materials that Stevens created. The Rocketeer is the perfect mix of superheroes and pulp fiction and is just as delightful to read now as it was in the '80's.Dave Stevens’ story uses 1930’s Americana imagery and provided a catalyst for a resurgence in interest in the actress Betty Page.
  • Saga of the Swamp Thing, Bk. 1 by Alan Moore, Stephen Bissette, John Totleben ADULTAlan Moore deconstructed Swamp Thing for DC in the 1980's and this was his first major company comic book work in the states. Totally turning the character inside out, Moore, Bissette and Totleben gave us a comic book that had never quite been seen before, a deft mix of horror, superhero adventure and humor. Alan Moore would create Watchmen for DC just a few years later. This Saga of the Swamp Thing hardcover is a deluxe reprinting of the Moore issues from the beginning and includes an issue never reprinted before.Alan Moore is the author of many important graphic novels, including Watchmen, V for Vendetta, From Hell and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
