Imitating natural materials changing the accepted end use. In an age of virtual reality, materials and processes continue to evolve blurring the boundaries between the real and the fake. Faux finishes can be similar to the real world or designed to differ significantly from reality.
This series of aluminum finishes translates authentic leathers, from exotic skins to shagreen, onto metal. Skin from crocodile, stingray, snake, eel and even ostrich is the starting point for the patterns.
