The United Kingdom<br />The United Kingdom is a country located in the north west of Europe.<br />It’s a constitutional monarchy and unitary state consisting of four countries: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales .<br />The capital is London.<br />The currency is Pound sterling .<br />The current population is around 61.5 million people.<br />Britons drive on the left side of the road !<br />

Cultural Dimensions <br />Power Distance Index(PDI) – The extent to which the less powerful members of organizations and institutions (like the family) accept and expect that power is distributed unequally.<br />Individualism(IDV) - The opposite its ,collectivism , that is the degree to which individuals are integrated into groups. On the individualism side we find societies in which the ties between individuals are loose. On the other hand, in the collectivist side we find societies in which people from birth onwards are integrated into strong, in groups, often extended families.<br />Masculinity(MAS) – its opposite, femininity refers to the distribution of roles between the genders which is another fundamental issue for any society to which a range of solution are found.<br />
  13. 13. cont’d<br />Uncertainty Avoidance Index(UAI)-deals with a society’s tolerance for uncertainty and ambiguity; It ultimately refers to man’s search for truth.<br />Long Term Orientation (LTO) -It deals with virtue regardless of truth. There are value association with long term orientation that are perseverance and value association with short time orientation that are respect for tradition, fulfilling social obligation and protecting one’s face.<br />
