  • 3. Opening Doors: Areas of Concern
    • Two key objectives where more progress will be critical in order to meet the goals of the Plan:
    • “ Provide Affordable Housing”
    • “ Increase Economic Security”
  • 4. Provide Affordable Housing
    • Rent subsidies, permanent – HUD-VASH, ideas for collaborative vouchers; but no sense of how many will be necessary and where they’re coming from
    • Rent subsidies, temporary – HPRP running out, new ESG requested, some enacted; but holdups on HUD release of new ESG, questions over working with Congress to get more
    • Affordable housing stock – Strong new initiatives not yet enacted
  • 5. Increase Economic Security
    • Veterans
    • DoL VETS
    • VA Health Services new hires to do job development and employer relations
    • TANF
    • Some engagement on coordination with HPRP
    • But –
  • 6. Increase Economic Security
    • No big DoL initiative to engage workforce system in ending homelessness
    • Adjust performance targets
    • Guidance/training for One Stops
    • Demonstrations
    • Outreach
