    • implementing change has become one of the key tasks of managers
    • in today’s changing world
    • ..But with so many innovations, managing change processes and
    • making new things happen is often a difficult and sometimes
    • frustrating process.
    • ‘ Resistance to change’ was found to be the most important factor for failure rate of large organizational changes
    • Failure, in this case, means that the targeted performance
    • improvements are not achieved as planned
    • The main problem emerges when we start moving from the still
    • relatively comfortable area of ‘knowing’ to the one of actually ‘doing’
  8. Change Management in Public Sectors
    • A successful change management requires an understanding
    • of the dynamics of both diffusion and resistance of innovation
    • A practical experience is necessary to efficiently:
    • Diagnose the attitude of key individuals;
    • Identify and leverage both formal and informal networks;
    • Understand the specific cultural factors which determine success or failure
  9. Change Management – the solution
    • Alternative approach to the development of change
    • management competencies.
    • ‘ Learning by doing’ philosophy
    • Making it possible for groups of managers to experience the challenge
