      • Fewer media companies as several merge to form one, e.g., Journal and Sentinel consolidate and become MJS.
      • =Less competition with 1 paper instead of 2
      • Media conglomeration:
      • Combination of companies in different media businesses to form conglomerates, e.g., Time (a publishing company) and Warner Bros. (a movies/TV company) combine to form Time Warner.
      • =Horizontal integration, synergy
      • Movies/TV/Internet/Publishing/etc…
      • Viacom (Paramount, Dreamworks, cable)
      • CBS Corp (CBS, CW [50%] publishing, radio)
