In elderly people, bladder infections can sometimes be very hard to diagnose. The symptoms are less
specific and in many cases the health care practitioner will blame it on the aging process. Older people
who suddenly become incontinent or who begin acting lethargic or confused should be checked by a
doctor for a bladder infection.
As with the symptoms, bladder infection treatment may be different for every patient. Some chronic
sufferers may require more serious solutions, whereas those who don’t suffer a lot may just have to
change their eating and behavior to combat the symptoms.

 Drink More Water - Increase the amount of water you drink when you have been
diagnosed with a bladder infection. Fluids will do two things: they empty bacteria out of
your bladder, and dilute your urine.
 Antibiotics–Sometimes a minor bladder infection will heal itself. You may feel the
common symptoms for a few days, but with increased hydration and urination, it should
pass. Other infections that are more serious will require antibiotics to kill the infection.
