What is self-esteem?  Self-esteem is the ability to believe in yourself, which includes your beliefs and values  You have to make sure your beliefs and values get stronger  Taking actions it the best way to make your beliefs and values get stronger that will increase your self-esteem  Every time your action matches your beliefs and values, your self-esteem increase; even if a negative outcome is the result

Why people fail to take action?  You have been lying and not keeping your commitments  You have been influenced by society to believe that lying is an okay thing  You are unlikely to take action when you lie because what you say does not match your beliefs and values  You believe that a little what lie will not hurt anyone
  4. 4. Who get hurt the most when you lie?  When you lie, you are the one who is going to get     hurt the most Even the smallest lies and commitments matter Example: When you say you will be at your friend house at 2pm, but not arrive there until 3pm, then you have lied Example: When you say you will finish reading your book in 1 week, but not finish until 3 weeks later, then you have lied The longer apart you accomplish something from your commitments, the lower your self-esteem will be

The benefits of keeping your commitments  You will have a high level of self-esteem  You will be able to accomplish many things in life  Every time you accomplish something and keeping your commitments, you are telling the world and most importantly to yourself that you can and will accomplish anything you say you will do  You will be able to accomplish all of your goals

What prevents people from accomplishing their goals?  It is not the lack of knowledge or skills  It is the lack of keeping commitments  Example: Have you ever set goals or resolutions     to do this and that, but never seem to achieve them? In order to achieve something big, you have to achieve the small things first You have to accomplish your daily commitments before you can achieve the big commitments In this case, the more you keep your daily commitments, the higher your self-esteem will be With a high level of self-esteem, you can achieve anything
  7. 7. Action steps  1. Write down everything you say you are going to do for yourself and others  2. Keep track on how many commitments you fail to accomplish on paper  3. The ones that you fail, re-evaluate what you are saying to yourself and others  Do you tend to say or do things that you do not believe in just to impress others?  Do your actions match what you are saying that should match your beliefs and values?
