    • Within the broadcasting& telecommunicationsector includes: Operators Device CE Broadcasters Advertisers
    • The Broadcaster Problem●Digital Content & Devices are growing out of control●Consumers want TV to interconnect between devices●TV Subscriptions migrating to Online media●Audience data and analytic
    • Todays Telco Challenge The challenge is optimizing multi-screen TV video delivery to expected performance levels for users on the operators networksThe Issues1.Existing Internet Services does not deliver broadcast quality HDTV2. Existing Transport Protocols are not designed for Video3. Todays Over The Top Video Services have severe limitations4. Delays are caused by high latency, buffering,, and packet loss
    • Most operators dont want to build their own networkYet, as their brand is paramount to them-they resistselling a third partys branded coverageOperators provides network users to access the globalmarket of digital contentBroadcasters can expand their digital assets onto appson mobile, TV, STB, & PS3Utilizing Molabtvxs commercially proven scalabletechnology, Operators and Broadcasters can delivercontent any device, any where, anytime
    • PAN-ASIA HD-MDN Global Media Interoperability Grid PLANS IN PROGRESS AUG2011 2012MALAYSIAIntegrated JUN2011 PAN-ASIA Media Grid initiative A major new aimed at harmonizing the broadcast and broadband delivery of entertainment to the end consumer through connected TVs, mobile and STB

    • Guaranteed DeliveryThere are several mechanisms to provide guaranteed high quality service to the customer base.First, since the popular content will most likely be cached in Media Grid Engines located within the last mile, thecontent has fewer router hops to travel, so fewer places in which congestion may occur.Secondly, we expect the last mile providers will be motivated to upgrade their infrastructure (or are already upgradingtheir infrastructure) in order to realize the incremental revenue described here.Third, there is real incentive to prioritize these high-priority bits that will generate incremental revenue over thosethat are sold today as part of a best-effort Internet Service. We expect queue prioritization and similar solutions willbe employed in hardware to maximize the likelihood of realizing the incremental revenue. Finally, there are mechanisms within the Media Grid Engines to strategically time the injection of traffic such that itmisses the encountered congestion along the path.

    • CASE STUDY Telekom Malaysia TMThe operator is broadcasting in both DVB and NTSC delivering TV and Radio content, using a Hybrid Cloud BroadcastTVPush VOD Serviceswireless CATV transmission system with 100,000 subscribers using set-top boxes.Content: Telco-Entertainent• OVer 250+ Licensed Network Broadcast Feeds & Content Available• Diversify entertainment channels portfolio• Live & On Demand content, exclusive to Hybrid Pay TV• Broad range of language content offering• Give new and existing customers new reasons to join, watch, & interact with HyppTV-Telekom MalaysiaService : End to End• Increased interconnections between Pay TV Services, users, & devices• Select, Edit & Deliver from a worldwide selection of Newly Released, Old, and Live Now content• Package uncompressed or encoded content into CloudwiredTV transport packets• Extend Broadcasters audience reach by providing a Cloud broadcast Service to distribute to operator network user• Secure broadcasts with authentication and content encryption
    • The plan, over the short term, is to eventually bring down the cost of Internet protocol (IP) transit by buying international bandwidth in bulk. In the longer term, the goal is to be partners of submarine cable (one which is laid beneath the sea) networks that reach US and European shores.IP transit cost makes up about 10%-40% of total Internet cost for a player. This is what players pay to buy capacity on submarine cables to enable customers to access sites, the bulk of which are located in the United States and Europe as well in India or Australia.IP transit is in demand, given the rising demand for broadband services. For a small player, it can be a challenge to buy capacity at a cost that allows it to make a profit.

    • PartnersACEVISION ASIA Acevision would partner with startup transcoding company, Molabtvx HD-MDN, leveraging IP based technologies to deliver advance services quickly and cost-effectively. The joint initiatvies would deploy a rights management engine to control access to content ased on a variety of business rules, including device attributes, content format, geo location, and subscriber tier of service The deployment demonstrates the ability of a hybrid cloud broadcasat infrasturucture and the power of a broadcasting encoding software to delivery pay tv services on a vast scale with enterprise grade reliability Molabtvx content is encoding in MPEG-4, which uses only half of the bandwidth of traditional MPEG3 encoding and allows the service provider to offer high impact HD Services The solution offers advance video management capabilities together with efficent video distribution through a hybrid cloud content delivery network deployed by the service provider, offering content security and QOS found today on Tv set top boxes to a broader range of devices.
