Before starting isometric drawing, must set Snap to isometric style:
Command: snap, ENTER
Specify snap setting or [On/OFF/Aspect…]: type in ‘s’ for style,
Enter snap grid style [Standard/Isometric]: type ‘i’ for isometric,
Specify vertical snap: Type 5, ENTER

To produce an isometric, it is advisable that you begin by sketching
out the isometric drawing complete with the vital dimensions to give
you an idea of how it would look like on AutoCAD. Once the sketch is
confirmed, you are then ready to start drawing using the software.
