What is a Digital Story ?
A 21st century way of telling a story
Consisting of digital media:
Still & moving graphics and/or
Sound, narration, music and/or
Animation, motion, color and/or
Text with all its formatting attributes

How is a Digital Story Created ? (the 4 P’s)
PLAN
Decide on your story. This is usually dependent on your purpose or intention.
Identify your audience.
Decide on method of distribution. (since we are talking about digital storytelling, this one is already decided. You only have to decide on web or server distribution)
Begin writing your script.
Use a storyboard to put your script in sequence

PRODUCE
Decide on digital production tool
Choose the media (graphics, music, sound, video, text) that best fits your script, purpose/intention, and audience.
Digitize the media (create narration, graphics; save media in a format that is friendly with digital production tool)
Create the digital story by putting script & media together

PUBLISH
Place and position the digital story for easy distribution
Enter the correct descriptives for searching
Consider copyright/Creative Commons licensing

PROMOTE
Share your story with audience
Connect your digital story to other web 2.0 tools with links & embedding
Allow comments on your story for collaboration
Tag your story for Web 3.0 semantic connection
