  2. 2. Teaching Channel • The Teaching Channel is a unique video platform that focuses on providing users with a plethora of inspiring and effective teaching practices in America's schools. The videos showcase teachers and students engaging in a variety of different educational practices. The videos are a means of collaboration because they enable teachers to share ideas by showcasing meaningful learning experiences.
  3. 3. Edmodo • Edmodo is an educational tool that combines the look and concept of Facebook to education. Edmodo enables teachers to perform a variety of academic tasks which include posting assignments, creating polls for student responses, embedding video clips, create learning groups, post a quiz for students to take, and create a calendar of events and assignments. Students can also turn in assignments or upload assignments for their teachers to view and grade. Teachers can annotate the assignments directly in Edmodo to provide instant feedback.
  4. 4. You Tube • Although Youtube is typically thought of for non- educational purposes, it actually can be quite beneficial in the classroom. Youtube has many channels that focus on educational topics. These educational videos can be a great way to help reinforce topics that are taught in class. Some of the educational series featured on Youtube are: Liberty’s Kids, select Bill Nye the Science Guy episodes, and The Magic School Bus.
  5. 5. School Tube • Schooltube is a video platform that focuses specifically on educational videos for the classroom. Teachers can share and use videos to help reinforce the curriculum and instruction. Schooltube is a great way to differentiate instruction in and out of the classroom.
  6. 6. Edublog • Edublogs provides a safe blogging platform for teachers, students and other educators. Teachers can post classroom news, assignments, an d other related information for students and parents. Students can also share information and collaborate on assignments.
  7. 7. Kidblog • Kidblog is a blogging forum for students. Blogging enables teachers to motivate students to communicate with a meaningful purpose for an authentic audience. Kidblog enables the teacher to monitor and evaluate student responses to questions and thoughts on learning experiences.
  8. 8. Wikispaces • A wiki is a web page or collection of web pages that can be linked together as a website. Wikis are often used as collaborative spaces where many editors can contribute content. In education, wikispaces can be used to post homework assignments, facilitate a classroom project, collaborate with an international classroom, communicate with parentsor other teachers, or provide a space for classroom discussion and feedback.
