Mock Crisis Scenario TimelineTime Event Description Image9:30amA disgruntled student thatis supposed to be onsuspension attempts toenter the building.Unbeknownst to securityhe is in possession of afirearm.9:32amThe student bypasses themain office and isapproached by the buildingofficer. The officerattempts to question thestudent’s presence in thebuilding and the studentproceeds to pull his gun onthe officer and shoot him.9:33amThe principal watchingon surveillance camerafrom his office notifiesthe assistant principalof the situation viawalkie-talkie. Thenimmediately calls thepolice.9:34amMeanwhile, theassistant principalradios all securitypersonnel in thebuilding so they can beon alert. Next he issuesa code gray (buildinglockdown).
  • 2. 9:35amSecurity begins toorganize themselvesand begin usheringstudent out of hallways,bathrooms, and publicareas.9:37amAll faculty and staff getinto lock down stanceand wait for instructionvia the PA system. Allhallways are cleared.9:45amPolice arrive on thescene and begin to enterthe building.9:47amPolice occupy thebuilding and begindown the halls in searchof the shooter.10:30amPolice are able toapprehend the shooterand escort him out ofthe building and intopolice custody.
