      • What job/career are you seeking?
      • What company’s fit that description?
      • Are they hiring?
      • Are you qualified?
      • Do you want to work for them?
      • Do they pay enough?
      • What do you have to offer them?
    3. What do you want to do?
      • Look at where your talents and interests lie.
      • Do you have the education?
      • Do you want to get the education?
      • Can you physically and mentally perform the job?
      • Do you want to really do that job?
    4. What Companies meet your requirements?
      • Look at your strengths and weakness and look for companies that appeal to you based on that
      • Be realistic with choices
      • Do your personal goals match the company’s goals
      • Look up the companies that best match you and your strengths and weaknesses
      • Research the companies thoroughly
    5. Can I do this job?
      • Research job description and requirements
      • Match your qualifications to the job
      • Match your resume with the job description
      • Be truthful
      • Don’t waste their time unless you meet the minimum requirements
    6. Do Personal Goals and Corporate Goals Match?
      • If you don’t believe in what the company stands for then you won’t be happy. Research what the company is, does, and how they affect the community.
      • Look at the long picture, not just right now.
      • How often does the company have openings?
      • Who does the company hire?
      • Any bad marks on the company?
    7. Does the Company pay what you want?
      • Look at your budget and decide if the company matches it.
      • Again research the policies of the company about work hours and ethics lots of work and no play can be very unattractive if you have lots of interests
      • Look at your family life and how it will be affected
      • Look at fringe benefits (tuition,vacation,insurance)
      • How are raises offered and when?

      • Research email contacts
      • Research hiring policies
      • Contact the correct person
      • Rehearse what you want to say
      • Make it personal
      • Make a good appearance
      • Exude confidence and capability
      • Attitude is important
    9. Landing the Job
      • Your research tells you a lot about the company and yourself
      • Apply what you have learned about yourself and the company and advertise yourself in your resume, your appearance, and your interview
      • Practice with your spouse, friend, or yourself for the interview
      • Relax, take a deep breath, and be prepared
      • Sell yourself as a valuable asset to the company. Let them know that they will get their Money’s worth.
      • Exude confidence and dependability as well as knowledge.
      • If a weakness comes up turn it into an asset by telling how you can improve on it. Don’t cover it up.
