Study given materials regarding stacking and storing and the operation of forklifts. A discussion / demonstration of the basic functions and operations of a forklift is facilitated at the machine. Notional Hours 4 1. Learners are supplied with copies of the company policies and procedures regarding stacking and storing as well as the operation of forklifts 2. Learners list the various forklifts and what loads each can carry 3. A discussion / demonstration of the basic functions and operations of forklifts is facilitated 4. Learners individually undertake an inspection of the operation of forklifts and identify all potential hazards 5. Recommendations are made to reduce / avoid these hazards and the impact of possible hazards. 6. A short report on the recommendations is drafted.
