  • 2. Task No.3Explain how the housekeeping department contribute towards earninghotel revenue. Present your findings in power point or with slide. Thepresentation should not exceed 5-7 minute. Also prepare a layout of astandard room in a hotel, exhibiting the basic amenities and facilitiesprovided.Accommodation in hotels tend to be the largest part of the hotel, it is themost revenue generating department, the housekeeping department takescare of all rooms is often largest department in hotelsHousekeeping is the department that deals essentially with cleanliness andall ancillary service attached to that.House keeping is the department determine to a large extent whetherguests are happy during stay and in turn mankind they return to the hotel.The fine accommodation and service are provided to the guest so they arepleased with the hotel

The guest satisfaction is its primary object and the hygiene factor mustalways be present in the hotel.Hotel offer laundry, dry leaning facilities for guest clothes, shoepolishing facilities also. Hotel aims to make environment comfortableand offer specialized service to the guest.There are 3 Degrees of cleaning of House Keeping department.1)Occupied Room-They have to clean the room everyday.2)Vacant Room-It is not a major clean but a small clean. It is a smallclean because when the guest checkout they have already cleaned theroom.3)-Checkout Rooms-Here the room has to be properly cleaned. It isbecause the room has to be delivered to other guest.The standard plays an important role in the reputation of the hotels. Onefeels comfortable only in the environment which is clean and wellordered, so cleanliness is important for health foremost also for being.

House Keeping Department may check up dusting, in-depthcleaning and losses confidence if properly not done e.g. If drawers arenot cleaned he may generally wont feel like putting his clothes down.Decent room supplies are service like quick laundry and dry cleaningservice shows guest that hotel is considering his comfort and wishes toplease him. not only this from the cleanliness of lobby, publicarea, restaurant, cloakrooms, the state and cleanliness of uniform theguest can judge a lot about hotel. it can be positive or negativejudgment we can conclude that housekeeping department contributesgreatly to all guest impression of the hotel.
