Creating SharePoint MySite Sites

OverviewGive Users Their (Own) SpaceSharePoint has a great feature for the users calledMySites. This allows users to have their own personalSharePoint portal that they can collaborate through,and also post their own blogs and personal files to.In this walkthrough we will show how to set up andconfigure the mysites application on SharePoint 2010,and also how to configure and customize the profiles.PS. Step 1Create A MySite ApplicationThe first step is to create a MySite application. To dothis, you need to go to SharePoint CentralAdministration, and select the ApplicationManagement group. © 2011 Copyright Junction Solutions. All rights reserved.

ResultMy Site Application CreatedNow we have a site.Unfortunately we are not quite finished. If you clickon the “My Content” link, it will error out. We need todo a little bit more configuration. © 2011 Copyright Junction Solutions. All rights reserved.

Step 2Configure MySiteFrom the Application Management option in CentralAdministration, select the site that we added theMySite to, and in the ribbon bar, you should be ableto select the managed paths from the Define button. © 2011 Copyright Junction Solutions. All rights reserved.

Step 2Configure MySiteWhen you select the application you will be able tosee all of the MySite and user profile configurationoptions.From here you need to choose the Setup My Sitemenu option.Note: Remember this link – you may need to comeback here later to configure profiles etc. © 2011 Copyright Junction Solutions.
