What Do Staff Do All Day - Presentation Transcript

    1. Year 11 Work Experience Program Melbourne 2008 10 th to 22 nd August The fiesty fifteen – 6 girls, 9 boys- ready for action
    2. What do staff do all day?
      • Well...... nothing of course, it’s really like a holiday!! .... except........!!
    3. Collect and recharge mobile phones at night.
      • Wake up to a 6am alarm to get the first student off to work by 6:30am. No time to go back to bed now.
      • Wake up the remainder between 6:30-7:00am – not the most pleasantly accepted practice, from the responses that eminate from the student bodies and overnight atmospheric conditions. (cough!! splutter!! Breathing aparatus highly recommended in male quarters)
      • Down to the kitchen for breakfast, with a chef who demonstrates a questionable sense of humour!
      • Then keep all students awake at..... least until they get to work!
    4. Answer the frequent, lengthy phone calls from students who have lost their way to work on their first day and those few who still cant get it right on the proceeding days. Not to mention those who seek clarification on the homeward, return journey. I I told you!!! Tram 57,stop 18
    5. Cleaning up the kitchen after the hoards have cut their lunch.
    6. Checking out travel arrangements for week 2 Just discovered no public transport available for some. Sorry Andrew! We will have to make other arrangements .
    7. Replenishing food kitty
    8. Attend other professional duties!! Off to meet the bureaucrats in St Andrew’s Place!
    9. Workplace visits
    10. At the end of the day – corridor duty11:30pm + Same old story, never enough sleep but all part of the show!!!!
