  • 1. Operation Exam Preparation Aim: to make the most of form time so that we get ahead of the rest of the country.
  • 2. You have ……. <ul><li>40 school days (approximately) until the first exam. </li></ul>
  • 3. Psychologist agree that…. <ul><li>The key to being the best at something is spending time on it…… </li></ul><ul><li>We have 23 form times left </li></ul><ul><li>That’s about 6 hours of revision extra that we can do </li></ul>
  • 4. In form times <ul><li>We will teach you how to revise effectively and efficiently (Wednesday) </li></ul><ul><li>You will revise effectively (Monday and Thursday) </li></ul><ul><li>You will have 1 to 1 meetings with your form tutor about your revision (Monday/Tuesday/Thursday and Friday). </li></ul>
  • 5. It is vital that…. <ul><li>You get involved and revise in this session. </li></ul><ul><li>Bring your stuff to revise </li></ul>
  • 6. If you don’t want to join in then we will have to.. <ul><li>Ask the science department for textbooks or will bring in Newspaper Articles (useful preparation for all subjects). Form tutors will send names to HOY’s. </li></ul><ul><li>If you are disruptive then you will be sent to the dining room where someone will supervise you. </li></ul><ul><li>A phone call home……Your parents need to know if you’re not interested in revision. </li></ul>

This weeks mission for Operation Exam Prep is…. <ul><li>HAVE A SORT OUT </li></ul><ul><li>Yes you need to find all your old books from year 10 and 11, your folders, find textbooks that teachers have given you. </li></ul><ul><li>Of course this will have to be done at home but if you have any work missing through scattyness or absence you must do something about it! </li></ul>
  • 8. TASK: <ul><li>Write in your planner or put a reminder on your phone for you to fish out your old books and check you have nothing missing. </li></ul><ul><li>Ask your subject teachers for a copy of the syllabus for your subject or if they do not have this the name of the SPECIFICATION. </li></ul><ul><li>You can look up the specification online by typing in subject (Geography); Exam Board (AQA) and The Specification (A) </li></ul><ul><li>Note there are new specifications out for GCSE’s and so you want the one examined in 2010. </li></ul><ul><li>Buy a study guide if you need it. NOTE STUDY GUIDES ARE LIMITED IN INFORMATION IF YOU WANT AN A OR A B DO NOT RELY ON THEM! </li></ul>
