  • My Usa Trip
    • By Katie Bertolino
  • What will I drive?
    • I will be driving a Ford Freestyle.
    • It averages 20 miles per gallon.
  • How Much/Price
    • I am figuring that I will travel about 11,630 miles.
    • The average price of regular unlead is $1.70.
    • I believe that it will cost me about 990 dollars to drive all the way to Washington D.C.

  • Variables
    • If gas goes up $5 a gallon, to $6.70 a/gallon, driving this trip would cost about $3900.

  • Driving Time
    • If I drive 60 mph for the entire trip, it would take me, 193.8 hours, or about 8 days.
  • What if I fly?
    • I will only be flying distances that are greater than 300 miles. The other miles will be driven by a rental car.
    • Some places that I will be going are not near an airport, so even if they are distances greater than 300 miles, I will still drive.
  • FLIGHTS & CARS
    • It will cost a grand total of $3055 to fly.
    • The rental cars will cost a grand total of $3450 to drive.
    • GRAND TOTAL: $6505.00
  • GAS & MEALS
    • Gas will cost me about $365.
    • I am estimating that meals will cost me $300.
    • Hotels will cost about $1500.
    • GRAND TOTAL (for flying and driving): $8670 .
  • My Hypothesis
    • It is CHEAPER to drive the whole way versus flying and driving.
