  2. 2. Objective <ul><li>By the end of this teacher module you will be able to login to the NCWise Teacher Assisted Module, record attendance and set up your gradebook with 100% accuracy. After you have completed all three please come to the technology lab and login. We will go through all three together to answer any questions. </li></ul>

Logging On <ul><li>Please contact the data manager (in the main office) to get your login information </li></ul><ul><li>Username: First_Last </li></ul><ul><li>Password: The data manager will give you one but you can feel free to change it </li></ul><ul><li>Database: Will always be ***51* </li></ul>

  5. 5. TAM Start Screen <ul><li>Here is what your home screen will look like when you login. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Recording Attendance Must be done daily before 9:00am by all homeroom teachers.

Recording your attendance <ul><li>Click the radio button that says “Homeroom” which will open up a listing of all your students. </li></ul><ul><li>Choose the correct date </li></ul><ul><li>Mark either A=Absent or L=Late </li></ul><ul><li>Mark a reason (all reasons should be unexcused, Debra will make changes for students who are excused.) </li></ul><ul><li>Mark the “Attendance Completed” box at the bottom of the screen so it will be sent to the data manager (Debra). </li></ul>

  10. 10. TAM Gradebook Setup Teachers in grades 3-5 will set up grades using TAM.

  14. 14. My Options Tab <ul><li>Choices you make in this tab will determine how your gradebook will be set up. </li></ul><ul><li>Choices made in this tab will determine how grades are calculated in the gradebook. </li></ul>

  16. 16. Category Weights <ul><li>At SES we use category weights. This allows you to give weighted percentages to each category type. (homework, tests, projects, etc.) </li></ul><ul><li>All assessments in the same category will be averaged together and each category will be averaged to give the student grades. </li></ul>
  17. 17. Rounding Marks <ul><li>When you click this button it will round the students percentages to the nearest whole number. </li></ul><ul><li>This is recommended but not mandatory. </li></ul><ul><li>It should be discussed as a grade level and everyone should do the same. </li></ul>
  18. 18. Default Settings <ul><li>Numeric Score Default can be set. </li></ul><ul><li>Failure Threshold can be used as a visual aide to teachers. (JCS is 60%) All scores below this setting will appear with a pink background. </li></ul>
  19. 19. TAVG% Include Weight <ul><li>Click this button so that the final grades at the end of the year will include all of the reporting periods. (1 st , 2 nd , 3 rd and 4 th nine weeks) </li></ul>
