HTML Editor: Use different fonts, color, bullets, numbers, and even insert images.
Directory: Staff email addresses are sorted alphabetically by last name in a tabbed format. No more searching for names unless you absolutely have to.
Journal: Document calls, meetings, events with date and actual running timer.
Discussion: Start on online forum to discuss items with staff. NOTE: these forums are open to all staff who have an email account.
File Storage: Upload documents from your computer to your email where you can access them any time you want (different than an attachment).
Messenger: Instant message friends, family directly from your email.
E-Z Post: MECNet’s homework posting site. Included with our email.
How To
How do I compose email?
In left hand sidebar there is a Compose tab. Click on Compose and a windows opens displaying an email form.
Click on To: to view the staff directory and find staff based on the spelling of their last name.
What is Today window that displays when I log in?
Is a collection of several tabs.
Calendar will show any appointments within a 7 day time frame.
Tasks are any items you have entered into the tasks field.
Messages contains 4 folders: Inbox, Draft, Sent and Trash.
Bottom 4 links, currently news portal, coming soon, weather, and news will be customized for information relevant to Ayer Public Schools.
How do I check for email?
Inbox will refresh every 5 minutes or you click a different tab, click on Check Mail, or refresh your screen.
What about SPAM?
Our email will continue to be screened for SPAM type content (there isn’t a single filter in existence that can entirely filter out spam).
When composing an email there is an Options button that allows you to do the following;
To use email address protection, select the desired option. The default is 'Don't protect my address'.
'Protect my address so only the recipient of this mail can reply to it.' allows you to send messages to recipients that cannot be used by anyone else. For example, you could use this option to send mail to someone whom you suspect might share email addresses with others including spammers.
'Protect my address so it automatically expires' allows you to send your message with a reply to address that expires in a pre-defined time period. You can select an expiration time from minutes to years. Examples of when to use this might be registration or posts to forums and online purchases where you would want the merchant to be able to contact you only for a limited time.
