Microsoft Ltd MSP Programme<br />Program OverviewThe Microsoft Student Partner Programme recognises top young minds from around the world that are passionate about technology. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to develop real-world skills to help you succeed in your future career, to help others learn about the technology of today and tomorrow, and to connect with other like-minded students, all whilst having a ton of fun along the way. The program is our way of encouraging students who are interested in building a closer relationship with Microsoft, and those who are simply hooked on technology, or talking about it to others to develop their skills further. What is a Microsoft Student Partner?The UK MSP programme will have 3 branches - Technical, Senior Technical and Business. See below for more definition of the roles. <br />We’re looking for students who:<br />
are passionate about networking
have marketing experience on campus
are leaders in their campus community
have a passion for technology and for Microsoft.
We do want to encourage discussion and debate about technology and hence your experiences and opinions are extremely valuable. If you want to share your passion and develop industry-leading skills, we want to hear from you.<br />What will you do? <br />You’ll spend some of your time planning campus events, blogging and tweeting your experiences with technology, demonstrating the latest technologies wherever you go, and working with your peers and students on campus, clubs and your department. <br />You’ll get to work with the latest and greatest cutting edge technology, talk to inspirational and aspirational people within the technology industry and gain exclusive access to events, and resources. <br /> <br />Every few weeks, MSPs have webcasts with Microsoft staff to keep you up to date with what’s going on. <br />Microsoft Ltd MSP Programme <br />2011-2012 Academic Year Selection Process<br />The application process will open in June 2011 and initial selection of MSPs will take place in August. Subsequent selection will take place until the end of December 2011.<br />Eligibility<br />To consider applying for the MSP Program, you must be:<br />Over 16 years of age. <br />Studying a full-time course at an officially recognized university/college/school in the UK. <br />What are we looking for<br />All MSPs should have the following basic qualities: <br />Passionate about technology and what it can do<br />Someone who loves to learn<br />Be part of an active and vibrant network <br />Competencies<br />Confident & outgoing<br />Demonstrates a high degree of responsibility, honesty, and integrity<br />level of Good rapport with faculty and students studying other disciplines<br />Willing to share knowledge & eager to educate and inspire others<br />High level of social activity, both online & offline<br />Willingness to organise university/college/school events and involve the local community<br />To apply for the different branches you need to meet the following criteria <br />

The time commitment is somewhat variable and depends on you and the activity but it might be somewhere between 1-3 hours/week.
Students must be enrolled fulltime in an accredited academic institution within the UK.
In order for new people to be accepted onto the programme we expect prospective MSPs to provide some evidence that you have the desire, capacity and willingness to share your passion for technology.
If we find it is not meeting your needs then MSPs are free to leave the programme at any time
If you are finding it hard or to deliver on a cross section of the list of suggested activities above, or at a frequency we both decide is appropriate, then we reserve the right to remove you from the programme.

How to apply? Applications for the 2011-2012 Academic Year will be accepted from May 2011 onwards.
