Flooding

  1. 1. Flooding Text Text Even though Riwaka has the best weather in the country, it Text had has several floods in the past due to the rising t waters of the Motueka and Riwaka Rivers.
  2. 2. The Weather Forecast People now use lots of things to forecast the weather. For example: Planes ,coming from overseas, tell the Civil Defence of Nelson that heavy rain is coming. They then tell all radio stations in the area that there is going to be a flood.

  5. 5. More questions How often does it flood? Approximately every 20 years What areas are likely to flood? At least 20 or 30 feet on either side of the river
